Sorry, but I never did an A/B test for volume. Off the cuff I wouldn't say there is a significant difference as both were always 'loud enough.' However, I do agree that two fifteens probably wouldn't have the same output as a 4x12.

That was my impression, but would you say that with 2 OBC115s you could get enough volume for medium sized gigs? I'd really like to go with them instead of the bulkier 412.

It hasn't been taken on in this thread...check the terror thread. But, off the cuff, I will say they have similar tone stacks, but completely different power sections. IMO comparing an all tube head to hybrid is comparing apples to oranges. YMMV.

Well, I got to try a Terror Bass and SP212 and SP410 last weekend. I was blown away. I got to try the SP212 with the GK MB2500 which I currently have and the Terror was just so much fatter, warmer, etc. I wish I would have had time to hook up the Terror bass on my current cabs (Epifani PS210 and PS115). My only question at this point is if I just need a Terror or should invest in a new cab as well!

That would be awesome... I've been curious for awhile how they would stack up with a similar set up. I'm currently saving up for a terror bass, those little things sound awesome.

Though I prefer the Terror with my Orange cabs, it sounds good with my GK212neo and my Boogie 118. It's just a good sounding little amp. The Orange SP212 is an unbelievable cabinet, so small and yet so powerful.

Well, I went down to the Fifth Avenue Fretshop (in Columbus, Ohio) yesterday to hang with my good buddy (and BGM Technical Editor) Phil Maneri. I wanted Phil to look at one of my basses, and as long as I was coming down, he asked if I could bring along some all-tube heads for him to check out. Of course, I had to bring my Orange AD200, and I thought it would be fun to throw the Terror Bass into the mix.

We spent most of the time playing Phil's vintage ('63, I think) Precision, and the cabs were two EA VL-208's (Phil's personal cabs), and we were all surprised how great they sounded with these tube heads!

As you can see, that little guy really cops a tone that's pretty close to the AD200, and believe me, it was plenty loud!

It does. The tone is similar between the two, though the AD200 definitely has more heft. For the record, we were not really trying to EQ them the same. In fact, we didn't spend a lot of time EQing any of these heads, and we impressed at how great they sounded just "plug and play."

I agree, the Bass Terror does a great job. Might not be the AD200b heft and sheer grind/grunt, but for those wanting that tone in a small, light and well priced package, the Bass Terror does it!
