YEAH! I finally did it! I found an Orange AD200B on ebay today for $1245 and bought it. I should have it in a week or so. I've never actually had the chance to play through one of these amps since I'm for Mississippi. We tend not to get many good anything here. lol. But after reading all the positive reviews on here about it, I figured that for that price it would be worth buying and trying. I hope it fulfills all my dreams like it does for everyone else on here! I need a spot!

man this is my favorite thread i've found yet.


maybe some of you vet's could help me out.

My band is a folk rock band, and i'm looking for a real punchy, real trebelely tone that really stands out in the mix, a play mostly in the middle of the neck.

for that kind of tone, which would suite me better. a

mesa titan v12

or

orange ad 200

sorry if this question is totally irrelevant i just don't know the sound or style of either of these amps. thanks a million

I bring that rack along for the the power conditioner, although the F-2B does sound heavenly coupled with the Orange - and I do run it that way sometimes.

Most of the time, though, I just prefer a simple bass->cable->amp setup, with the exception of outboard EQ when/if needed.

From my brief encounter with the Orange at a music store, I'd say it's warm and creamy. Perhaps it can be bright and punchy but I wasn't going for that.

I just gigged through a friend's ancient Woodson (solid state) head and CTS loaded 2x15 and was amazed at how bright it was compared to my Walkabout/AccuGroove rig...so I now believe that anything is possible.
