A while yet....we're looking at "dumbing it down" a bit, trying to make it less intense for mobile users, since they're becoming more and more of the users for internet these days, but not removing EVERYTHING that matters.

Another issue I'm dealing with is my frustration with trying to work with Dreamweaver. It's powerful, but complicated for a schmo like me that doesn't spend a lot of hours in it. Looking at a few other options...still not settled, so nothing to go with yet.

Why not have a "dedicated" mobile/slow internet site (different link)?

Would that prove to be too costly?

Considering it, but one of the things that matters to me is that I want something I can edit easily and quickly, and I don't want to have to do it TWICE each time I want to upload a note or some photos, so that will have to be addressed.

If I was just doing the site stuff none of it would be an issue, but trying to keep everything in the shop heading in the right direction AND doing the site is a bit steeper of a hill to climb every day! ;)

Gard, IMHO: IDE's for HTML=overkill
HTML Standard from W3C
CSS Standard from W3C

Again, IMHO - if you spent a morning reading both I think you'll quickly see the mark-up is pretty trivial to work with in its raw text form. Just my $0.02.

Also, with the mobile site - no reason you have to have 2 diff. sites, one site, one set of content, two diff. style sheets to render the layout most appropriate for the consuming agents platform.

Curious what sort of IT is being used in house for inventory, etc... A lot of times tying sites into internal systems that are already in place and part of a normal work flow prevents redundancy, keeps data fresh, and works homogeneously with an already existing daily process. A lot more to set up in the beginning but it comes around over the long-term.
