We have an 8x12 Ampeg cab in Ampeg SVX. Or did you mean for iOS, specifically (that would be significantly less than a decade!)

You have a 8X10" cab, not a 8x12" ;)
I said "for a decade" just to point out that we have asked for an other cab then a 1x15" for a very long time. At least two years.

My goodness! What did I miss?

Ok, fellas, we got a very good thing going on these iOS virtual threads.

So, to help keep that going, I'm going to introduce a little contest.

Anyone that is using an iOS bass sim please listen! Post (no more than 500 words) how this new technology is helping your music (whether you're a pro or a newbie like me still learning), post a sample of your tone (either to SoundCloud or YouTube), and post your settings. Label your post accordingly so that we know it is an official contest entry.

The contest is open until February 14th, the day of love and frienship and all that stuff...

The winner will be selected "American Idol" style, meaning our iOS thread virtual "founding fathers" (that is, Adam, Duke, and Rip) votes will count 50%, and everyone else's votes will count for the other 50%. If you do something B15 related and you blow JimmyM's socks off, and he comes in here and says, "Whoa!", you get an additional 10% bonus vote!

You can use any iOS sim, any interface, and any recorder (virtual or PC/hardware based). The main requirement is that the sound comes from the bass sim strictly with no other bells and whistles added.

To level the field, playing ability will not be considered, only "tone".

The grand prize will be a 6-issue subscription to TomBowlus' Bass Gear Magazine.

Let the contest begin!!!

Sure, you have a factory in Italy now, that's great. But that totally proved my point about outsourcing. How many American employees work there, other than administrative staff?? Yeah, that's what I thought. It's ok, cheap labor is cheap labor.

IK Multimedia is an Italian company. Our headquarters are in Modena, same as our factory. No Americans work there. And Italian labor is anything but cheap. Italy has a Invalid Link Removed. Nobody "outsources" to Italy.

In reality, IK "outsources" to America.

I don't care so much about winning, I just love sharing music!!

One thing we all need to get back to, and has been forgotten with the recent pissing match, is that this all started because we all love music and new ways of making it.

Plus I've got something REALLY cool I've been working on, it's almost ready!!

We can argue this into the ground if you like, Brian.

But the simple fact is that until IK steps up and improves their iOS tone, as well as their relationship with their customers, you've lost the game here.

There are other apps that sound better, and other apps that record better. Simple as that. If you can't look past your damaged egos and actually RELATE to your users, you'll eventually be known as a joke and be stuck in the bedroom, listening to Sweet Child of Mine being played badly by pre-pubescent kids.

The users here are very serious about our music, live and otherwise. The biggest thing we are concerned with is TONE, and IK is in third place at best in this department.

We won't even get into where you stand in customer relations. But I will say that if your basing your opinions on customer relations on your own forum, you're deluded.

We've told you guys (you, Obi and Peter) repeatedly that we aren't the enemy, but you'd rather have a pissing match than listen and improve your product.

That's fine with us. We're all grown-ups here, and aren't fooled by marketing garbage.

In the end, TONE will decide. For me, that means Apogee, Jamup XT w/ the Bass Expansion and Audiobus.

Answer this (without resorting to lip service, please):

When can we expect more bass gear and Audiobus support for Amplitube iOS? It's a simple question, please answer it.

Right. Typo there, obviously, as we were talking about the 8x10 cab. I was confused by you saying "for a decade" because that's about as long as AmpliTube has been around for Mac and PC, so I thought that must have been what you meant.

I'll give you one thing, though, Brian.

I just checked out the new iLine that you're gonna be coming out with soon. It's a great assembly of cables. A bit pricey, but IK gear always is. But still, it has all the cables one would need for iOS.

Thanks, Rip. We hope you'll pick one up, regardless of what app you end up using it with.

No offense, but we all know that isn't gonna happen. But good luck with it.

I've got all my cabling already assembled, and the iLine is too overpriced (as normal for IK products). Plus, these experiences on this and your forum (as well as IK's continued ignoring of our requests) have assured that IK won't see another dime from me.

Italy is a great country, been there twice. My favorite place for wine, food, amazing nature and lovely people, there are Markbass, Duacti, Ferrari which is in Modena as well, etc. lets not drag Italy into it.

Prieto, great idea.

So since you're here, in the spirit of this thread, can you answer my question?

When is IK going to add more bass gear to Amplitube iOS, and when will we see Audiobus support for Amplitube iOS?

These are questions I can't answer at this time. We will add more bass gear as we go, that's about as much as I can say without going into pure speculation. Regarding AudioBus, we are continuing to evaluate it. We are aware of the current interest in it, and of course that is a consideration.

Brian,
See why I didn't want to even start talking about IK's forum at 11pm last night. But I knew since you brought it up it wouldn't be unnoticed or unreplied to.

I was too tired and occupied last night to continue with the talk with you Brian. I hope that you can take constructive criticism cause you got plenty of it here.
