What a coincidence my Legacy Elite 6 is arriving this Wednesday as well, Joe shipped it out on Friday of last week.
With all that's happening here in 2020, that's an amazing surprise. Can't wait to learn more.

Thanks for your support. I am still waiting. I’m really glad that @Angus and @gwangi will be receiving instruments tomorrow. From my causal reading it appears that @Rumblefisher and @bigsnack are still waiting. If I left anyone out please post. My wait is a drop in the bucket compared to @Angus

Hearing that at least some of the backlog is being cleared is very encouraging!!! I've certainly not been waiting as long as some of you, so I'm not holding my breath for any messages from them just yet. It's definitely wonderful to hear that Joe and the team are working though some of it though. It reassures me that he's committed to finishing basses and getting them out to folks. There will be many soundclips when I end up getting a shipping confirmation one of these days!
Perhaps the Pandemic is giving them more time to focus? I ordered at the beginning of the summer- though I knew there would be a wait..... In the past 10+ years I've been an FBass guy (still am) and each bass I have ordered (2) from them- has been an excellent experience- good communication and an accurate delivery date. I did once own a used Sonus Special 5 which I had to sell in order to get my first FBass- I miss that axe!!!! With that said- communication with Joe and Peter has been good- no complaints. I ordered a bass that is completely stock- no customization- so hopefully they will be able to deliver within the agreed upon date.

Zon has been on my shortlist of basses that I'd like to own. It's disappointing to hear that they have not been as on the level as I would have expected. Hopefully this has been a temporary kink...
I've been trying to avoid getting into this too much and making a big thing of it, but it is pretty frustrating. I think it's one of the coolest looking instruments that I have seen come out of their shop, but I've completed four post-high school degrees including a doctorate in the time I've been waiting, and the wait was over twice the next longest person's. In the circumstances, I don't think it's fair to let it be a marketing tool. Despite that, a bunch of the specs are wrong (some of which I've known about for 4-5 years and just decided to live with), some things were different, and then one option was just left off.
Here's what I'll say, because I've had this happen more than once with things with a long wait (not specifically with instruments): Anytime you are waiting a long time for something with options/specs, go back to them multiple times during the wait to make sure everything is clear. I have had many times in my life where the builder/seller says "Hey, instead of X, how about we do Y?" and you reply "No, I definitely prefer X. Let's do X." Low and behold, a while later, it shows up with Y. My assumption is that the seller/builder does not take good notes, and remembers the conversation about "X versus Y", and their brain remembers Y, because they recommended it. That happened multiple times in this case, none of which were reversible, and I've had it happen other life situations, too.
We're only human- take good notes, and verify, verify, verify.
I should mention for those still waiting, every other instrument I had received from them previously was way beyond expectations- completely perfect with zero caveats. I still think their fretwork is the best I've ever encountered in the bass world.

Understood, thanks for the candor. My order has only one change from "stock", and it's something that I can live with either way if something were to get mixed up. I'll mentally prep for it to come either way

And mine, in current spec, is just a Hyperbass with different woods, so nothing crazy. I'm sure yours will arrive with no problems.
I apologize if I'm not speaking with full candor- just trying to be respectful of the situation and the people involved. I'm not someone who gets angry easily and I don't like negative attention, for myself or others. I only initially posted that my bass was arriving because I wanted those waiting to know that things were progressing and to feel confident that things will be delivered. I didn't really anticipate some of the issues on what arrived; I moved on a long time ago from the issues I knew about.
I had a situation with another builder where things were never delivered and legal action had to be taken after 5-6 years. I never felt the need to do that here because of the people involved.

OK, now I read your later post. So the why is because you are disappointed and don't want pictures of your bass to be a marketing tool?
Well, my curiosity of your bass will just have to remain unfulfilled. Hope you enjoy it despite your misgivings.
This is a really long thread, but a number of lengthy delays are logged here. I know two of the TBers who have experienced 2+ year waits, and as noted they aren't the only ones.
That said: I ordered around the same time as my friends, but my experience was good. My custom headless Sonus took 9 months, just 1 month over ETA, and I'm extremely pleased with the bass. Angus' comments regarding specs are spot on: mine wasn't 100%, but I'm happy to say that the differences were minor details that turned out to be insignificant; I no longer think about them.
