Official Zon Club Part 5

It’s a wonderful sounding fretless!! The feel of the composite neck makes it very easy to play. There are other posts of this bass in this thread. My hope would be that it would also be an awesome fretted bass.
I’m also warned by the previous owner that converting the existing fretboard to fretted would be a risky undertaking.
I don’t want to ruin a perfectly good bass, so it might be my best option for a fretted Zon Sonus is to trade this Zon for one like it.

I had a Zon Sonus Special 5 fretless and I stupidly sold it as it was unlined. I would love to pick up a fretted version of that same bass.

Don’t trade the fretless. You’ll regret it!

With the prices these command, I understand the thinking of trading. However, as someone with multiple basses, I can say I'd much rather have a fretted and a fretless Zon than only one of them.
:D

I understand!!! This is the only bass that I've ever owned, sold then bought it back!! I have a few basses, too, and only two fretless; the Zon and a Rob Allen MB-2. Two wonderful basses that see very little gig time, but a lot of love!!!

Do me a favor and let me know if you see a Sonus 8 for sale. I've been looking for a good one. It's the bass I've been dreaming of for over 20 years now. Photo below shamelessly stolen from one that sold on TB in 2012. I will entertain any color.:drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool:
