I do. I'm waiting on a BG4, ordered in November of 2018. I spoke to Joe on the phone just before Christmas. He wasn't able to get me an exact ETA on completion, only that he was sorry and hadn't forgotten about my order. He was optimistic that I'd have the bass by summer of this year, I guess we will see!
FWIW, I haven't received a response via email in over 18 months. I had to call to speak to anyone at the shop.
Me too. 6 years in on my Vinny 6 build.
Received email from Joe 10/2020 saying he will be starting my build soon. Planning to call 4/2021 as it will be 6 months. Any contact I will post here.

Wow, I'm really confused by the range of different experience we've had regarding comms.
Each time I've contacted Zon with a query (regarding any of the Zons i have, or queries about potential future builds), I've gotten a response within a day. I do wonder whether my luck would run out, were I to actually start a custom build of my own. So far, every one I've bought has been second-hand - but the spec i'd currently be after, i've never seen used...
Thanks to everyone sharing their experience - it really is formaitve in the way I look at sourcing a build with Zon at the moment. And I hope, meanwhile, that your builds are completed as soon as feasible!
As I have stated previously my experience is an outlier. I’m not discouraging anyone from placing an order. Hopefully this year I will be able to close the book.
I bought my Zon on the used market but with a born date of 1/20. When I received the bass I had a question regarding some potential issues with build quality (notably, fret markers that were out of place and a registration that was incorrectly documented). I messaged customer service and got a response almost immediately. So quickly, in fact, I would never have imagined that anyone would have gotten anything but excellent correspondence. At any rate, I'm on the side of the field with the "quick response" team.
No other reason I share that story other than I read the most recent posts. Please forgive me if my feedback is out of place from the continuity of the discussion ongoing.
My question for you: I guess I'm somewhat embarrassed by my inquiry but, I'm having trouble getting the strings out of the bridge for a string change. Is there some sort of secret procedure? (It's a dumb question, I know...but, I'm being outsmarted by Joe, I guess!)

Right! It just looks like the balls on the strings are a little larger than the bridge slots for the the way the balls were inserted.
If you have like needle-nose pliers or a small screw driver that will fit in the hole in the string's ball in order to dislodge the ball and work it out. Careful not to be too aggressive and scratch the bass finish.
When you install the next set and maybe going forward, try to get the balls where the hole is facing up, when bass is laying flat.

I appreciate the feedback. I ended up using one of end of the strings to push the ball of the old strings still left in the bridge.
At the end of the day, all is well! Thanks again for getting back to me. In all my years of changing strings I've never run into this issue. I'm grateful for the lack of eye rolling on your part!

Are you talking about the pickup itself, you might need to check with Joe Zon, I know the pickups are custom made to Joe's spec's.
You would probably have better luck calling Bartollini. They can at least steer you closer to a pickup they sell that will get you in the ball park. I have always wondered what the coil layout and parameters are for my Legacy pickups. Other than humbucking dual coil, the description is pretty vague.

I found lots of uprising things when this showed up.
I had assumed the tuners were Gotoh. They are Schaller.
The controls seem like vol vol tone tone. Yet there is a battery and circuit board in the cavity
I'm not sure the year, I need to ask Zon about it.

Similar to my Legacy, which is also vol/vol/tone/tone with Schaller tuners. I'd imagine mid-late 80s
