That's what I've been reading. Mr. Joe said he's about a year out. I'm expecting at least a year and a half because of my luck . Like the old song says, "If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all". That's another reason why I'm cool with used. It's still new to me.

I found mine used (lightly used!).... and I agree with “It’s still new to me”.

That bass sure is purdee. What's the top wood? Also, how is the string spacing? I've been considering a 6'er but I've been seeing that Zon comes with 17mm spacing. Is that the case with yours?

The top is black redwood Burl. The string spacing on this one is 16.5mm which I wouldn’t want on a 4 or 5 string. I have found the 16.5mm to be surprisingly comfortable on the 6’er.

I have a bass from another company with the same top. I love redwood burl.
I wonder if it's more of a design and construction than spacing issue? My challenge with tighter spacing is from the 7th fret to the first, the strings get closer to each other and I hit the other strings.

That’s sounds like a nut width / spacing issue.

Indeed. Does the strings seem to close in at the nut on yours or is the nut made for them to stay 16.5 all the way up?

Here’s a visual example compared to my American deluxe Jazz bass V. The Zon is a bit tighter ...approximately 5mm narrower overall on the the B - G strings. The spacing actually appears to taper (narrows slightly between the smaller strings).

Thanks for the visual. Wait, never thought I'd say that to another man . But seriously, that's a great way for me to see because the Fender V's are too close for me as well. I'm a shoot Zon an email and see if an wider neck is available

Man and I think their 6 string nut width could be much narrower. They feel wide to me.

Maybe you Zon lovers can help me calm my butt down with some good advice....

Ok, I'm head over heels because I've found the bass of basses. My Zon Sonus that I posted pictures of, is the top of the mountain for me. Since getting it, all I want now is more Zon. At one point, I was thinking of getting rid of my Fender CS jazz and Marco p/j so that I would only play Zon and Elrick (love that thang, ain't going nowhere). I'm not a variety type of dude. Especially as I get older.

My challenge is that I don't wanna repeat mistakes of the past and get repetitious in sounds with my basses. I've had 5 p basses at one time and was SELF convinced that there was an huge difference in the sounds of each. Is there really a big difference in sounds between the Zon offerings?

I've tried YouTube but the offerings are limited to none for my taste. Couldn't find any finger funk, blues, rock, etc. Most of what's available is slap, tap and solo. Can anybody recommend someone to look up? Thanks for any and all help.

"Book of Funk", "Lucky", and "Standing in the Shadows" are with my Zon.
