Oh...Verdine....what happened to you, man??

Who knows, maybe he just didn't feel inspired that day, in that situation. I went to an EW&F concert a couple of years ago and he sounded great.

Are you sure? Technically, he did sound great I guess. I talked to him at the Temple Bar in Santa Monica about 6 years ago, and he said that he records the live show in advance, and pantomimes (his words) it during performances, because he's also the choreographer. If you look at some of the concert dvd's, you'll hear a G string snap while Verdine is grooving on the E string. BTW, he's not the only one in the band that does that.

It's really a shame videos like this get posted. He looks like he's just checking out a bass....then all of a sudden it's becomes a perfomance in some peoples eyes and they may not like what they hear. So then this 57 seconds of a persons life is supposed to sum up their playng.
It works the other way around too. Someone sounds incredible for 60 seconds. And that's it...done. In reality they're not really good. :D

I hear you but he's still a shell of what he once was!

I know what you mean about his playing now a days, back in the 70s and 80s nobody could Groove like him and the pocket goes without saying, but now a days he seem like dancing is more important than playing the bass oh what would I give to see the old Verdine and that White Fender Jazz,New is not always better..
