ok guys ive got a question about well....

a little bit of the background:

well i asked this girl to prom (which is around 3 weeks away) and ive liked her for a really long time now so we went to pick out my tux and tie and crap like that and she came a long to help me pick out all the colors. The color of her dress is seafoam green and the place didnt have a tie to match that color. So me and her are going to different stores tomorrow night to look for a color tie to match.

Now to the story:

So when she wanted to come a long to look for the tie i asked her did she want to catch a movie after it and she said shed love to so, no problem, right?

ahhh guess again, i dont know what to do, i dont know if i should tell this girl i like her or if i should wait till prom night (or even tell her at all). So ive been trying to think of ways to tell this girl that i like her, mainly because she is a kind of different girl in that sense (in a good way) and i dont know if she even has a "friends group" (a lot of girls i know actually dont!) and if she does im probably falling right into it. But for some reason i think she likes me but i dont know for sure, and yes yes i know theres only one way to find out but i also dont want to make things "awkward" for prom.

and another thing is if i do decide to tell her i wouldnt be quite sure how with her, like i said before shes kind of different in that sense and shes like no other girl i have ever met (in a good way again of course).

i know this is weird but if i get any help/insight at all, i will be VERY thankful.

You really are the king of stupidity, Fontaine.

She went tux shopping with you, helped pick out everything, went to see a movie with you, even said she'd LOVE to, and is even going to prom with you!

Clearly, she hates your guts.

we are going to see the movie tomorrow night, and she brought a friend to get the tux as well (of the female sex) and is also bringing some friends to the prom (also again of the female sex, we currently live around 2 hours away)

play it cool mang. i bet she already knows because you asked her out but then again i was in the same situation at your age.

its the little things that go a long way. try stuff like holding her hand and look in her eyes and smile. (dont stare though) thing flirtful glance maybe a couple seconds. and most of all be relaxed and have fun after all you are still young.

Please don't make the mistake of professing your feelings. Guys just have to get it all out in the open and end up coming across like a stalker. I know, I know, you're positive that you won't look like a stalker. Allow me: Yes. You will.

Do not put your feelings into words, they'll come out like Dr. Suess' Guide To Digging A Pit In Your Basement For The One You Love. or How To Photograph Girls In Poor Lighting While Holding Today's Newspaper.

You're already in. Go on your dates and let things work themselves out.

+1. I wish someone would have told me that when I was in high school.

She most likely already knows how you feel, and she seems to be expressing interest...her bringing the friend is probably a way for her to test the waters without having to be alone. Play it cool, and if she really does like you, then prom night will take care of itself.

Good stuff man, you're doing good so far. You seem like a really cool guy. Keep hanging with her and like everyone said, notice the super duh obvious stuff (like she is going to the prom with you) and the little things like she laughs at your jokes and she hugs you without being one foot away and patting you on the back real fast ( :scowl: ). Usually, nature takes its course as long as you don't get all weird and psycho, and sooner or later you guys are holding hands, and doing all that cute couple stuff haha.

If you just can't hold it in any longer and want to find out if she likes you in THAT way, here is some advice from someone who like most other people had some "shoulda, coulda, wouldas" in high school (warning, YMMV, there I said it):

Find a time after you've hung out all day or went to the movies or something and ask her if you she likes you as more than just a friend. The key here is not to ask her like you are going to be crushed if she gives you the wrong answer. Don't be weird about it. Ask in an honest way that doesn't make her feel like if she says no, everything is all weird now. Just tell her you are asking cuz you want to know since you are kinda feeling like you are getting those signals and want to know if you are right or wrong. As long as you ask in an honest, non-weird, cool way, no matter what it's all good.

If she says "oh, i'm sorry, no I just like you as a friend" then you say "oh alright, just curious, cool no prob!" and just have fun going to prom with a really cool friend (trust me...ask most anyone on these boards and if we all had a choice, we would have gone with a cool awesome girl rather than with our former girlfriends who we just ended up fighting with the whole night...sorry flashbacks). Key here again is that you don't take it personally and enjoy having a new cool friend who happens to be a girl (best type, TRUST ME).

If she says "oh, actually...umm, yeah I do like you" then well, if you don't know what to do next, you got another thread you probably have to start hahaha

Point is, just like someone else said, just have fun. If you know things will get weird, better not to ask and find out naturally. If it never happens, at least you'll have a good time at prom. If she seems cool, just ask her and be cool about it no matter what the outcome.

EXTRA BONUS TIP! Damn, I should copy this down for my future son...

If you do end up just taking a "friend" to prom, the bonus is that you'll probably get to dance with other girls! Dammit...I really gotta start on that time machine. Now where do I order those crystals...

:hiding:

like i said in the OP, i dont know if she has a friend zone, a lot of girls i know happen to think thats a load of bull, so im thinkin if she do, how the pack do i get out?

Of course girls are gonna say that it's a load of bull, but it's been proven time and time again to exist.

As for getting out...I really don't know. I guess the key is to not fall into it in the first place.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I just remembered something. I forget who posted it, but it seems to work: The "Knee Test". When you guys are sitting together, sit in closer to her and touch your knees to her's (getting into her personal space). If she moves and acts uncomfortable, she doesn't like you like that. If she doesn't, you have a green light. I wish I could remember who posted it.

i actually remember that and was planning on trying it, ill give it a shot....i guess lol

cant hurt at this point.

figured id this:

she texts me a lot, mostly in the middle of her classes and its usually just to see what im doing and she says shes bored and stuff, and just that time she sent one asking what i was doing because she was waiting to fall asleep (keep in mind her friend is staying over tonight).

i dont know where this falls, but it cant hurt? can it?
