Ok...tired subject, but I need advice.

amp+ speak1+, speak1- speak2+, speak2- speak3-, speak3- speak4+, speak4- amp-

Should be series parallel so your cab impedance is the same as each speaker individually. Check each speaker before rewiring as 1 may be shorted and it's not a wiring issue.

Someone check my wiring from above. I'm coming in from yard work with a bad ticker for short breaks.

If you are really reading 1 ohm on each of your drivers, do not continue on until you figure out if the measurements are bad, or you have defective drivers, or you are measuring incorrectly.

Something is very wrong, have you checked the battery in your meter? You may need to use a different meter if your's is defective or inappropriate for the task of measuring low resistances.

If there is something wrong with your drivers, it's not likely that damaging your amp would be covered under warranty, so you need to be sure of what you are doing before plugging in and turning on.

You might also consider that some of the folks here are offering you some very good information. If you become disrespectful to their help, that's a quick way to be left to yourself with no further help.
I agree...I was just talking about the ones that have already been disrespectful to me...I have been very civil UpTo that point and I aim to stay that way.... I appreciate all advice, but when it's peppered with attitude or insinuations that I'm not intelligent.... well... can you blame me for losing my temper a little?

Hey bro., you got to be schmarder than your avatar looks, which is why I made mine a toilet at CBGB's to lower my standards.

I just have to beat it back into submission. It's getting there...

Now, as far as ohms I've only checked via 1/4 in plugged into the input...I was checking the overall ohms of the cabinet...I've still got to check polarity as well...

If you are measuring one ohm on the cabinet, then I bet all the drivers are wired in parallel, or you have a driver with a partially shorted voice coil. That will be very hard on the amp.

Ok I'm going to have to dig deeper... Although at this point, I'm positive after looking at the wiring in my 2x12, and testing... I've got an 8 ohm cab there... It's a lot louder than the 4x12... partially I'm sure it's because it's at ear level....but, backing up, I can still hear it way over the 4x12..
This is the point I'm at: thinking about retiring my 4x12... And seriously considering pulling the trigger on a pf115lf... Any opinions on how this might pan out? I feel like the sensitivity of the cabinet combined with putting more wattage into one speaker might even out the output volume-wise... And it having glowing reviews regarding room filling bass may mean it will give me the other half of the sound I'm trying to get... Anyone care to chime in?

Chasing volume is useless. Are they wankers? Volume for themselves? When you can get louder than those two which is possible with some cash outlay your band sound will be questionable. You’ll be blamed for the nose bleeds, loose bowels, visual distortion, and property damage.

No really. Musicians can play their material at any volume. Does some call for more than others? Of course. Yet if their attitude is “keep up” are they in it for the whole band sound?

If it were me, I would take the speakers out of the cab and measure their resistance. If everything checks out, I would wire it back up to an 8 ohm load and give it another go. Four 12's should be way louder than a single 15. At that point, if it is still inefficient, ditch it.

Pulled my speakers...rewired... definitely 8 ohms. Still not happy with how the pair are interacting...to give you an idea of what kind of volume difference, it's going from 9:00 on the master for my 2x12...to like 10:30 on the master to get the same level out of my 4x12... It's considerably less efficient. I honestly think I'm not able to drive the speakers hard enough in the 4x12... Seeing as I'm driving the 4 with only 400 watts divided.... I put 2 of the eminence drivers in my 2x12 at 4 ohms and boom...it sounded great and loud... Just not enough air moving for me to use it as a standalone...

Ok the mad scientist in me keeps thinking... what about leaving the 2 eminence drivers in the 2x12, put the 2 sicas in the top 2 spaces in my 4x12, but not connecting them...wire the remaining 2 eminence drivers to 4 ohms, and keeping the stack so I can have 2 at ear level and 2 at knee level...?
Well I say go ahead and try it and see what happens.
Though my gut says, it would be akin to having a car with mismatched wheel/tire sizes. Two on the driver size match, and two on the passenger side match, but then a large size difference between the two sides.

As I think about different speaker cones moving differently in a common air space, they might work against one another. I would think that in a common air space you would want all of the cones moving the same amount at the same time. It seems that if they didn't it would create some strange back pressure that would restrict cone movement, thus not being able to push as much air which will cut down on volume.
