I didn't really realize it until I got a viola this past Christmas. I had to buy peg oil for those pegs because they would slip out of tune at night and make really loud sounds. Peg oil is like magic.

I think this one is going to be finished tomorrow. I'll check and see how the oil looks, but I think there's enough on there now.
Having had 3 builds going on at the same time for the past 6.5 weeks, I'm really relieved to be getting this done! My build challenge guitar only has fretwork, wet sanding, polishing, and assembly/setup left and my semi-hollow only has a few days worth of woodwork left before I can start finishing that. I'm starting a bass build next month (a commissioned one), so I'll probably have another thread going when these get finished, if anyone is interested.

I'm planning on a video. I don't know exactly who is going to be in it or what will be played yet, but I'll try to figure something out. I have to do a video shoot for my build challenge guitar next week, so maybe I'll try to make this one the same day while I have the recording stuff set up.

Came out really nice. Sounds pretty good in the sound slip too. Is it normal to couple in drumming on the body during play? Or were you just showing us how it resonates?

Thanks! One of the holes I filled looks like it left a dimple that got filled with sawdust. I'll have to clean that out.
She said she likes it more and more every time she plays it and she likes that it isn't as loud and irritating (okay, my words) as the other sanshin, so she played it while she was sitting in the backyard today without feeling like she was bothering the neighbors.
