Okinawan sanshin build

Lovely! Very nice, indeed!
I'm glad that your Mom likes it. That, I guess, was the final test.

I especially like that the bridge resembles a tori. I'm assuming that was intentional?

Thank you! Yeah, the torii was intentional. :D The normal sanshin bridges fall over really easily, so this design actually works a lot better.

Great work. :)

Love the grain on the back. Looks like a dragon to me. :)

Thanks! I'm calling it a habu (relative of a viper that lives in Okinawa), but I can see the dragon too!

That resonates much better than I (and I guess everyone else?) had thought it would! Props for such a nice build!

Thank you!

Woo, a video, good stuff. Every project should be required to have a video.

Agreed. I've made one for all of mine so far. The next one might be a bit more difficult (not sure what to play on a fretless guitar and would need to borrow an amp).

Great build Lisa. Very cool. Is that your mom playing in the video?

Thank you. Yeah, that's my mom.

Cool. OT, but I love the combo of the electric blue top and white bit. Colours look nice together.

Hahaha, I'll have to let her know. That's actually a light green, not white, but I guess it doesn't show up in the video. She put it over her because she said it would make the sanshin show up better or something.

Now that you mention it, yes...definitely light green. And it does allow for the sanshin to show up better as well I notice.

It does look almost white in the video though. That might have been my fault with color correction.

My dad watched it and he was like "why does she have a blanket on?" Haha. I think it's actually just a big cutoff piece of fabric.

Beautiful job. Congratulations

Thank you!
