I just inherited an old 70's Traynor YC-610 cabinet that seems to be in decent working order. I've done a little reading and it seems this rig is rated at 5.4 ohms. That's... weird.
Knowing just enough about electrics to be dangerous, I'm afraid to hook anything I have up to this cab. My main amp is an old 4 ohm Trace combo. I also have an old SWR Baby Blue combo rated at 8 ohms. Both can disconnect their internal speakers to drive external cabs, so the Traynor would be getting the full load.
Which one is safest with this oddball impedance, or should I be approaching this differently?
