This is the 1936 H Tutmarc Bass- Apparently the first ever Electric bass. What is the oldest bass you got? who can get closest to that? I can only go back to my 1986 Vintage precision Bass.
My oldest bass is this 1987 Yamaha BB300.
My oldest instrument, which I don't have a very good picture of, is this Gibson archtop guitar. I believe it's an L-30 model, but I'm not certain. Something of a family heirloom-- it belonged to my uncle, gifted to him by his wife's mother, who got it as a little girl learning guitar in 1948 or so. Also not certain of the model year, but it was not the brand-newest thing when she got it. I do also possess the pickguard, but I've just removed it.

1972 as of the other day. Before that, it was my ‘89 Jazz.
One got a couple of 1984 six string electrics. Oldest bass mid-90s MIJ Fender.

I’ve recently been able to obtain this 1972 Fender (fairly certain, maple neck I think). It’s seen its fair share of history, but it’s still got that classic feel. It’s much older than I am, so I feel pretty lucky to have it. I’ve got plans to eventually put the original pickups back in and lose the tugbar, but even as it is now, it’s a beauty. I need to take it to an expert but that's a bit tricky at the moment. Nice to see a lot of the older basses in this thread!
