UPDATE:

I am in the process of turning my P-Bass into this:

I lost an e-bay auction for a fender 62ri tort guard so now I have to wait 3 days for the next one to finish :p

I am also considering the gold look (leaning towards tort though):

it would look pretty much exactly the same as that picture minus the wear and the vintage logo/tuners

Black. I love white basses with black pickguards.

Or all white basses. Ever since I saw Nathan East's white Yamaha and Fodera at a Herbie concert, I've wanted a white bass. It'd contrast my black one real good :P

I don't like Tort much, kinda reminds of that rubbery flooring stuff they use for kid's playgrounds :P

Wow Krispy - that looks just like the pickguard on my 50 aniversary Tele. (Sorry guys I play guitar as well! Thought it was time to come out.)

I'm definately going to make a brass pickguard for my Jazz though. I'll have to start with a sheet of 16 guage brass and use the old pg as a template. I've used a black one but it shows all the scratches and doesn't look as good as tort or anything else except white. Didn't like the standard white at all.
