OMG!!! Have you seen this beast!!

so i was browsing the we, looking for some new cabs when i came across this unreal piece of bass candy! you guys ever play any Tec amps or cabs??

it is a 2x15, 1x12 and 4x10 in one! and it weights 119lbs!!

me likey but i could never justifly a cab that big!

and was very impressed. Very high quality stuff, beautifully made, right up there with Glockenklang, AER, Aguilar, Markbass etc. Very high tech and modern sounding - neo speakers, light, etc. Their little combos are superb. And they had this platform for recording bassist to stand on with a giant vibrator on it - was absolutely wonderful when playing through headphones. Kind of like the 'Rumbleseat' thing only for players who like to stand. Added all the stuff you miss when playing through cans, and then some. Marvelous company, wonderful amps and cabs - some one should definitely distribute them here in North America.

Cheers,
Cameron

I'm concerned that there's so many drivers in that cab, and not nearly enough internal volume for it to operate efficiently. It's probably gonna behave like the Acme Low B2 and need massive wattage just to get loud enough to be heard.

I prefer two semi-large, very efficient cabinets.

Specs are in Post #8

Bad Cab:
Sensitivity: 105 dB
Freq.-Response: 26 - 19,000 Hz
Power rms: 2,400 w
Weight: 119 lb

Acme B2:
Sensitivity: 93 dB 1W/1M
Frequency response: +/-3 dB 41Hz to 22 kHz -6 dB at 31 Hz
Power Handling: 350 Watts RMS continuous
Weight: 50 lbs

It weighs just 19 lbs more than my 2 Acmes together, is about 4 times more efficient, handles about 7 time more power, and goes way lower (assuming parity in the published specs, which is perhaps a leap, I know) and is only about a foot taller.

About as far from an Acme as I could possibly imagine!

it's real high end stuff. Certainly more accurate than most American-made amp power ratings.
