OMG!!!!!!!!!

once again, the bridge cover is on backwards. when someone that owns one of these tele basses takes it off, it's a 50/50 chance that they put it back on correctly, but it seems that more than 50% of them are put back on wrong. it's beautiful bass, but it just hurts me to look at it when they do that.

Sweet bass.

Putting the bridge cover on backwards is practical in that it gets the foam mute under the cover out of the way and the cover is harder to lose.

Wow. Never would have thought of it being a clever way to disable the mute!

I've got a best-of anthology of Booker T. and the M.G.s tunes, and in the liner notes there's a group photo. Duck Dunn's holding a Tele, or maybe it's one of the early 50s slab-bodied P basses. He joined the group in '64, so the photo can't be older than that.

Anyway, he's got the bridge cover reversed.

An absolutely absurd price to ask for that. I love it when someone asking too much for an item provides a link to someone else asking too much for their item to give authenticity to their asking price.

That's the market. They were made in extremely limited numbers and for those who have the cash to be a collector they are a great find in good condition like these.
