Hear me out... A tone control works by sending signal to ground at a certain frequency cut off point determined by the value of a capacitor. Would it be possible then to send that high frequency to an additional output jack on my bass, like a low-pass filter, except that the high frequencies go to a dedicated amp instead of to ground.
I'm expanding on the Billy Sheehan model of tone attainment, where he sends his neck side pick up into his bass amp, and sends the signal from his middle pick up into his treble amp. To me, this seems somewhat wasteful, because his neck side pick up has some usable treble frequencies to offer, and vice versa for his middle pick up. I suppose a hard switch would be better, or even to strategically solder a capacitor so that one output only receives bass and one output only receives treble.
