Just in the last 3-4 months, I have purchased "hard gig bags" or "soft cases" (not really sure what to call them) for my oldest son's acoustic guitar, my youngest son's tenor sax, and my Warwick Alien acoustic bass, all from Sweetwater. Good pricing and good service.
Musiciansfriend - best price matching & deals Sweetwater - best customer service & knowledgeable staff
Monoprice - best prices on cables, cords & connectors
Amazon - occasional insanely cheap prices. There is a thread here watching them: Amazon Deals Thread
Watch out for Amazon, though. If you buy from a non-authorized dealer you get no warranty or manufacturer support.
Sweetwater put actual candy in the box when I ordered from them which I considered a huge plus
For the overall buying experience, it is Sweetwater for me.
I work in a public school music department and when it is time to make a purchase, whether it is an amp, keyboard or anything else, they always follow up with a phone call or email to be sure everything is to our satisfaction.
In terms of knowledgable & professional staff in every department, they are in an entirely different league.
Treat me well, and always give me great deals and service.
And I share this as often as I can on Talkbass, if you know what you want and are ready to buy, email [email protected] and ask for the Talkbass member discount.
You'll hear back from them shortly with a good deal, and more often a GREAT deal. They only ask that you understand and respect that the price is a one time quote for you and you alone, and is provided as a courtesy and as an appreciation to the Talkbass community.
No affiliation or anything, it's just how I've bought all my new gear for many years now.
