PB, more music has been played on PBs than any other bass.

Passive PJ. It absolutely needs to be passive. I have yet to find an active bass that will give me the range of tones I need (unless it has an active/passive switch and a passive tone control for passive mode of course). Also, passive basses can be easily fixed ANYWHERE as long as you have a soldering iron and a minimum of spare parts. When the preamp in an active bass fails all bets are off.
More specifically I would choose a Yamaha BBP34. This bass covers all my needs and I'm frankly amazed that Yamaha can sell these outstanding instruments for such a reasonable price. The even cheaper BB434 is also a VERY nice instrument and perhaps even better value.
I hardly ever use bridge pickups or blended pickups so a passive P would actually cover 98% of my needs but the added versatility of a bridge pickup is nice if I have to choose only ONE bass. The BBP34 also happens to be my favourite P-bass so it's a no-brainer really.

Alright, alright, I'll chime in: Passive Pbass with old nickel rounds (despite the fact I tend to use flats 70% of the time). Covered.
For me, would be the most comfortable to play (for me) & best sounding (to me) Precision bass.
If I had to sell them all, I'd keep my MTD 635. But if i needed more money in this hypothetical, id keep my p bass, with tort and flats. I'd miss the low b, but I can survive.
I only have 4, but if I had to go down to only one it's the one in my avatar. '78 Musicmaster body with a Squier Bronco neck, Sentell Lil Sis pickup and custom paint from my son. It's been my #1 for 20 years even before recent upgrades.
A simple passive one pickup bass.

I'm not sure I really understand the question ...
If it's limited to the instruments we currently own, I'd have to go with my (?)'93(?) AccuBass.

Playing my Le Fay always feels like coming home whenever I've touched another bass for a while.
I only own 3 basses nowadays. One is a backup to the Le Fay (a Dingwall), the other is a P.

I think it's not limited to that. Choose any bass ever built.
My unlined maple fretless Warmoth with Wilde pj pickups & GHS tapewounds. If I could have 2 the one on the left as well. Another Warmoth. ‘56 p with Fralin split ‘51 & GHS pressure wounds.

If this is the case, it would be a custom-built FSO (I prefer the "rounded corners") with one (passive) pick-up (I'd probably remove it from the Epiphone I mentioned, earlier). 24 frets reverse headstock preferred (Looking a lot like a Jackson or Ibanez guitar headstock).
Ratioed tuners ... ability to split the pick-up ... linear pots.
Royal purple color (with a matching headstock) and all gold (colored) hardware.
It's not the bass you choose, it's that you post a picture with your feet in the shot. Preferably bare feet. And +1 if the background is a cluttered mess.

USA Spector NS-5 with EMG's and 18V 3-band HAZ preamp. Under 9lbs. All maple body/neck with Ebony Fretboard. Would likely need their "helium" treatment to achieve it.

That '56P is a great looking bass.
I usually don't care for black basses and usually don't like black basses with white pickguards, and usually don't like a white pickguard on any bass.
That bass broke all those rules and looks just right.
...and good choice with the split Fralin and Pressurewounds.
