One bass to rule them all

I went through 8 or 9 perfectly good bass guitars to arrive at my one and only Fender Custom Shop 62 Precision bass in Sonic Blue. I am very happy with it.

My Ric 4003 was my #1 for a long time. It would be really hard for me to let the rest of the fleet go, but I have always said that the Ric will go in the ground with me when I kick the bucket. I could always play that one and get out of it the sounds I need it to make.

It's Talkbass, so I believe the correct answer is "a P-bass with a tortoise shell pickguard and flats".

For me, it is close... "a short-scale J-bass with tort and flats".

I'd keep the fretless jb on the right. There's always a fretted bass around to borrow if need be.

My Dingwall Super J 3X does everything I need from gig-to-gig and on every recording session I've taken it to. The biggest change I'd need to make on a particular setting would be to take the rounds off and put flats on, or vice versa.

I already own it. 35” scale, 5-string, 24 frets, lightweight, tonally versatile, sets up well & gorgeous. That’s why.
