Hello My Lovely Bass Fellas...
I wanted to install this kind of pickguard on my jazz bass
But i can't really purchase one from iran ...
So i decided to make one for myself
Does anyone have Any sort of pdf file or dimensions for this specific pickguard model? Or any other odd jazz bass pickguard??

I understand. I thought that you could contact the business (es) in Etsy and see if they can provide one for you.

BTW, expressions like “thanks buddy”, or “thanks friend”, are considered a bit passive-aggressive to many Americans in this context.

I could probably whip something up for you. What are you planning on doing with the PDF? Just printing it out and using it as a guide? Or are you going to convert it to a CNC file or something?

To me the easiest way is remove and use the pickguard and control plate from your bass.
Trace a pattern at least two or three times that way you can make sure all of your screw holes line up and the control area lines up too.

Jazz Basses have changed pickguard screw patterns several times, MIA/MIJ/MIM are also all a hair different, so finding aftermarket guards that fit kinda sucks.

I managed to make a good pickguard out of a LP using the original pickguard and a router. Your difficulty here would be to fix both parts on the plate at the correct distance from each other, and make sure that the gap between them does not result in a small bump in the path of the router. But it seems feasible to me. Maybe not the best solution nor the most straightforward, but if you cannot find a better one...

That would work but the pickguard does not entirely fit on the bass , the lower part which should be side by side with the control plate , it's little bit bigger ... Imma show you with a photo

Just kidding! I couldn't help but rib bass player 53 a little bit for giving you a hard time on your English (which is great btw) :smug:


Maybe screwing the regular pickguard and control plate to a sheet of wood, then tracing it out and cutting could make for a useful template? Fine adjustments can be made by filing or sanding until your test fits are perfect on the bass. Then cut it out of pickguard material and voila! :thumbsup:

I work at a University, and work directly with several grad students from Iran. They are very smart and super nice. They also have a great sense of humor.
And yes, their English is on par with any English native speaker.
