Ooops! I did it again! New bass!

does this bass have the gary willis boat ramp ? you gotta have a light touch for those ramps.
My Ibanez is a 5 string with 1.85 nut width. The nut width on the 4 strings is 1.5...now at first you think Jazz bass. However the neck isnt thick like a J Bass. It is like 19mm front to back of the neck and I just found it to be very difficult to play. Gotta curl your fingers in ways that my hands cant handle. Overall it felt slick and fast, but just to small for my taste.
No boat ramp. It has a routed thumb rest.

When I first saw these being back in production, I was ecstatic...well, until I saw the price. I'll have to wait as my budget is little tighter these days, but congratulations to the OP, that looks so freakin' awesome and hope you enjoy that bass. Would love to hear your feedback regarding the bass after you've had the chance to run it through its paces. The body shape is very comfortable from what I remember of the luthite Ergodyne version - pretty unique bass.

Nice looking bass. I'll bet it sounds great. I like this five string version:

I am very strongly considering grabbing one of these in a 5 string soon. I love the sleek body and the ergonomics. The thickness of the top and the neck construction are both quite impressive for the price bracket. Looking forward to hearing your first impression.

Well, I went ahead and did it. The bass is killer. Every inch of the thing is designed for comfort. Mine is a 5, weighs 7.4# and has perfect balance on my lap. The short scale 4 with ultralight tuners I traded for it didn’t balance this well and it was heavier! Standing up has the same feel as sitting without having to wear the bass high. The piezo provide a very clear and full sound even with the tone off, huge lows and great tracking on my octave pedal. Magnetic pickup sounds pretty good alone, but together there is really something to the tone.

The bass looks weird if you want a Fender or other classic design. If you want high performance you can not go wrong. I promise you won’t find another bass like it.

The verdict is in. I am totally pleased with this bass. It is the first bass that sounds really nice on my Blackstar U250 combo. The piezo pickup alone or blended with the Bartolini pickup produces very warm and even tones. The fretboard is very easy to play. I was concerned it may be too light, but it is not. The top looks like it is made of stone. The D'Addario XL strings sound great, but are a bit rough on the fingers. The bass even came with a cool multitool.
