OOPS! Backfed a class D with an SVT

So how did the darkglass sound compared to your act? And here's my old Mopar.

The darkglass sounded good. In between my band and his there was a guy with a ripsaw dirty bass sound- it sounded amazing soloed with good clarity of notes but in the mix (3 piece band) he almost completely disappeared!

When we played our talented guitarist buddy stuck his head backstage after the first song and said “too much bass” haha. I had a clean punchy SD 1/4 pounder precision pickup sound in channel 1 EQ’d flat with the super high on and the super low off. Channel 2 had a big muff set medium dirty with the bass rolled way off. Both channels were set at 12:00. I rolled channel one back to 10:30 and got the thumbs up from my buddy who has a good ear.

I’m guessing my stage volume was overwhelming the sound reinforcement? The club had big bass bins and my svt-vr has an xlr out (clean signal or tube/pedal sound I dunno?).

Anyway I’m confident I had some grind and a strong thick bottom end.

The darkglass sounded great but not remarkable. Kind of like the soundgear he was playing through it. I would much rather run one than one of the underpowered G/K amps that used to show up as standard house backlines but I wouldn’t spend the cash on one unless I had to have their preamp sound. A tech 21 theough a peavey or crown/qsc whatever clean power amp is just as good for me.

I’m a firm believer that you sound like you and your fingers no matter what but I do like the ampeg enough to carry 200lbs of it to gigs. Class D weight must be nice.

I love the darkglass sound in every video I've seen. But despite trying multiple times I just can't get it to work for me.

Currently running a tech 21 rpm into the power section of my GK700rb through a 810E and I'm pretty happy with it. But man, everyone I see one of those darkglass videos I'm mad I can't get those tones from them lol

View attachment 2853982 I built that demon from the ground up, 408 motor too in my garage, but sold it a couple years ago. I drive an srt8 challenger now. Sorry for participating in the thread self hijack- can't help it when it comes to dodges! I still have a ramcharger on 33s, a '73 swinger I built, and a '54 3/4 ton- fits the fridge perfect for local fair weather gigs
Is my Jeep GC a MOPAR? I'm not sure. It has the evolved Rambler/AMC I6, Dana axles, NP transfer case, not sure on the juice box, but it's outnumbered by the rest if MOPAR. A year earlier, I think it would have been the AMC body, but probably some bits of MOPAR parts here and there. I had a 68 Chryster Newport and a 70's Duster, but with a 440. Those were MOPAR. The 68 was farm road only because it failed safety inspection and I didn't have my license. Did 70 on gravel just fine. Only driven when my parents were out :D They would have killed me. It should have killed me. Duster rear ended when I parked it in front of a bar. Hit by a drunk at full speed. I made some money, because I got it from a guy getting divorced and paid cash... perfect condition, primed and ready for paint, paid peanuts. It would have killed me too. There is a God.

Hahahaha Mopar is my other passion

A friend of mine crashed a red 340 Duster I was riding in that looked a lot like your Demon, he floored it going around a corner listening to all us kids yelling Get on it! I was in the back seat and didn't get hurt, we hit a pole but luckily there was a big ground cable in front of it and it cushioned the blow, car was totaled, nice car too.

my high school ride was an old ( '61, ) dodge polara CHP car. beefed 3 spd auto push button. no pwr steering, big no pwr drums. everything stiff as hell. big-ass howling V8. steel dash, gigantic white hard plastic hoop for a steering wheel. ahh, but it had seat belts...which we needed...and we used. hustling that thing around was a very physical endeavor.

I would never wish harm to another player’s equipment but I know who I’m betting on in a fight. How long can his class D cause permanent hearing loss at 2 ohms? I can go all day
Yeah, I knew a couple guys with the big iron back in the 70’s. Their idea of fun was to take the cars to an isolated street, pour bleach all over the road and then burn through the tires with all the power. I suppose that was impressive from a certain perspective.

All that bleach splatter was hard on paint and clothes.
