OK..well I got the word today she has pulled out of the show...official word is something about media blitz concerning her and Tony...Unofficially...well who really knows...She's been replaced by the EDS Jazz Ensemble...weird...oh well, now we are headlining...lol...

i swear on my life i read this thread yesterday and had a dream about it last night. i was sitting with her and we were talking. I told her about this thread.

Sucks that she pulled out man. Enjoy the show. Play a good set. If it makes any difference, I highly doubt that you would have had any contact with her or really even been allowed to get closer than 20 feet to her by her handlers.

YOu are probably right...I've had that experience with some other artists we have opened for...Here are a couple of stories:

1. Opened for Hank Williams Jr. once in Austin, TX in the middile of summer...like 110 degrees...and his management team wouldn't even let us use the dressing trailors...we had to get dressed in the back of our equipment truck!...jerk

2. We opened for Ted Nugent once, and after out set, the stage manager told us "wow you guys were great!....but you gotta pack up and get outta here...Ted doesn't like anyone backstage but his people"...another jerk

3. One guy who was very cool, was Joe Bonamassa...we played a show with him once, and the stage manager had cut our set from 1 hour to 30 minutes...Joe talked with them and got them to give us back an extra 15 minutes, so we got to play a 45 minute set...now that was cool of him!

Bummer about Jsimp. Did they give you a reason why she would bail or are you just assuming it has do deal with the media stuff and Tony?
I know Tony is supposed to be a judge there so maybe having them both together would have caused a big scene or something. who knows.

No I don't know what her real reasons are for pulling out...only what I was told...that it was due to some media stuff...For all I know if could have nothing to do with Tony being there...I wish she was still playing...I suspect her and her band sound pretty good...

This is interesting. Jessica has never bailed on a show in her life ever. She may not be at her best but she doesn't bail. Something big must have happened here or its about all the crap she has taken latley in the media & doesn't want to create a circus for McKinney & the charites being represented like Homes for Humanity & domestic violence. That maybe the media blitz pull back. She may be around but not high profile to keep the paps away.
This definatley is different for Jessica to bail on anything if she was ever confirmed for this event.
Anyone got the real story here?

Well, the title says it all...Our band is opening a show for Jessica Simpson next week...LOL...and her Boyfriend Tony Romo is going to be there as well...

Actually, I'm kind of excited. I have always thought she was hot, and with all the recent "crap" she's been dealing with about her weight...I'm curious to get an up close look at her. I suspect she will look great...
