Opinion on 6x10 Cab?

Im looking to get a 6x10 cab, I'm really nearly set on the Ashdown ABM 610. Anybody have one or have spent a decent amount of time with one? The price point is the most attractive thing about it to be honest, does it sound a lot poorer than other 6x10's?

I don't have an ashdown 610 but I sure love my ampeg 610! Great punch with some bottom. It's been exceptional at outdoor gigs...fills the stage well! It's super easy to move as well! Is the ashdown ported like the ampeg?

I haven't played through the Ashdown 6x10, but I've never been an Ashdown fan. If you are on a budget, the older Warwick cabs can be picked up super-cheaply. Have a look for a WCA 611 Pro on the used market. They sound great.

There's not alot of guys that have had them in the US. I don't have one, but I have played one. I liked it a helluva lot more than the ampeg 610, but a little less than the berg.

There is a used Epifani UL 610 on the Guitar Center used web site right now. Seems like a good deal.

I've played through an ABM 810 and didn't like it.

My B string was farting out, and tonally it just lacked life.

I was powering it with my Sunn Model T. Maybe they just didn't like each other.

Thats good to know, thanks! I play a 4 string so would you say Id be less likely to encounter this?

Subscribed... I'm interested in the ABM610 as well. So everything that a live musician can say about I'm interested.

I use 2 Ashdown 410s and have no problems with the low B farting out. I think they sound great, lots of low end and good punch. I use the Ashdown ABM 500 head. I haven't played on the 610 though. What head are you going to use with it?

Peavey tour 450 and then possibly an GK MB500 or MB800

I love my pre fender swr 6x10. I didnt like the ampeg 6x10 much. I never played the ashdown. Id suggest going on craigslist and snagging whatever you can find cheap since everyone wants to go neo now!

Same here. SWR Goliath Sr. is one of the top 6x10 cabs, especially if you like low mids.
