This is a video from about 8 years ago and I posted it on the electric side, someone appeared to be skeptical as to whether it was real or he was miming to an electric bass. To me you can pretty much get any bass to sound how you like with enough gadgets and he does shut off a foot pedal right at the end although of course no idea what it is. Someone pointed out that it sounds like an electric with round wound strings which I agree it does but his fingering seems to be right on. I have played upright in the past. Anyway I would appreciate any opinions. This was put in a few online magazines as real.

The first clue it's not real is he introduces himself saying he's an "acoustic bass guitar player". That is not an acoustic bass guitar. Wrong instrument family.
Second clue, where's the cord and pickup? I see no pickup on the bridge and no Jack on the afterlengths or tailpiece.
Third clue, the mutes you hear don't line up with what his hands are doing.

my vote is faking it for fun. But that's just my opinion.
