anyone know why the controls on the TB500 head are a complete mirror of the TB500 Combo?.......in theory it is the same amp head isn't it?

More mid punch. You can keep it clean with a low gain level and still generate massive volume with the SS power amp side. My description "aggressive" (spelling aside) was to describe the subtle synthesized octave that I think I am hearing from the TB. I'm still interested to see if anyone else hears this besides me. I could be all wet.

I know this is ancient, but I'm hearing this as well from my Terror - a slight octave effect. I think it's kind of cool actually, just wanted to chime in and let you know you certainly aren't all wet (perhaps you've dried off by now).

Isn't needed any compressor with this "Bass Terror" for tapping or other techniques or valves do it works by it self? If using some, interesting in experience.

Distortion is also compression, but it's one particular kind. You may or may not like it. At higher gain levels, the sound can be quite compressed.

Hiho,I use an OBC115 with my Terror 500 and it sounds great and loud.I also use a SP212 ,great cab as well and sometimes both with the 4 ohm switch at the back and it,s brutally loud and earth shaking.
Great head once you work out the EQ.

I need to tell someone this story and this seems like the right place: at a gig last month a non-musician friend comes up to me and says "what is that orange thing that says 'Orange' on top of your amp?" Classic.

If any design nerds are on this thread and can name the font used for the word "Terror" I would really like to know.
