Okay this may seem like a dumb question but I am trying to decide between the Orange CR100 and the Fender Rumble 500 for my first real bass amp. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Orange Crush CR100 vs Fender Rumble 500

Depends what your goal is. If you want something that's good for medium sized gigs, you will need the 500 watts. If you add an extension cab, it would also work for larger gigs. Hear good things about the new rumble series. On the other hand, if you just want something portable that you can use for small gigs that sounds excellent the Orange amps are great.
Thank you guys. The other thing I like about the Fender is that it is 20lbs lighter. So you can add an extension cab to the Fender? I was curious about that. Thank you Sofbass & Greenboy
because ill end up talking myself into keeping both of them. ill tell my self i need one for home and one for my practice space. its sounds immature but I dont have that much self control
Little Orange bass amps are pretty cute, but beyond the cuteness factor the Fender Rumble 500 combo will slay that Orange in it's tracks. No contest. The Rumble 200 1x15 combo is a closer match to the Orange 100, but will still peel that Orange for a snack. Plus it's $100 less expensive. All of the V3 Rumbles 40 and up are class D ICEPower. Both the Rumble 500 & 200 combos have powered extension speaker output jacks that allow you add another 8 ohm speaker cabinet. Fender Rumble 115 & 410 cabs are designed to match.
I always suggest you go and audition the Rumbles and compare them with any direct competitor. The new Fender Rumbles are that good. GK is probably the hottest competition on the bass combo market. They're very good but more expensive. Just pick what you like best.

rumble is fine, have one but if tone is your goal I have to vote for orange, it handles the low b better and is much warmer, if you just need a tool the rumble might work better for you, but I'm a tone junkie, I will take tone over going over one that goes to eleven.
I appreciate the info. I ordered the rumble and it should be here by Friday. I will go for an orange head one day but for now this is all I have money for
I have an 8x10 with an ashdown head for big stuff, I use the orange for small coffee shop kind of stuff and recording and the rumble when i have to just be loud and mobile
