Orange Little Bass Thing issues/help

Background: I recently purchased a used Orange Little Bass Thing used on eBay as a replacement for my old Ampeg B2R that wasn't cutting it and having (at least) input jack issues and cutting out at practice.

Setup: Ampeg 610 cab, Orange Little Bass Thing, generic power conditioner, korg rack tuner (in the effects loop), darkglass B3K NOT in the effects loop, Squier Jaguar

Event: I practiced in my apartment garage after getting the little bass thing a couple weeks ago and was so happy with it. I could barley turn the volume up to 1/10. When I got to our first full band practice since I got it I turned up to maybe 3/10 and same thing. But when we set up and I turned up to 5 I heard a pop sort of sound and the. The volume got drastically lower. I finished practice with the volume at about 9/10 and it probably wasn't as loud as 3/10 had been before.

troubleshooting: I started by removing the power conditioner, pedal, and tuner from the chain. Nothing changed still no real volume. I swapped back in the Ampeg B2R and it was loud without issue so it was not my Ampeg 610 cabinet. At this point I'm sure it's the Orange LBT head.

my question: has anyone had this issue before or know what's going on? Is a component on the power amp blown? And it's just the pre-amp powering it now? Any help appreciated. I'll likely send it in to orange but we have our first gig next month and I'd really not like to start by trying to borrow a head for it…

That definitely sounds like something has failed. It really doesn't matter whether it's in the pre or output stage, the amp needs to be sent to an Orange approved repair agent. It might be worth contacting the eBay seller to see if it's still under warranty and they will help with a repair request if any remaining warranty period isn't transferable to you.

Update! So after emailing Joe he asked a few questions and forwarded me to a US person at Orange. I mailed out my amp on a Thursday and got it back repaired on the following Monday... Total cost with return shipping was $80. I couldn't be happier with the repair service from the folks at Orange and I would definitely buy another Orange amp in the future. 4 gigs later and a dozen practices and it's still playing perfectly!

Hey, I know this thread is from a bit ago but...how do you still like the amp? Is the notched volume as much of a pain as I think it is, or am I making a bigger deal about this than it is? I am interested in buying one of these. Thanks!

I love the amp for the most part. The volume with my ampeg 6x10 is crazy. I can nearly turn it up past 3/10 at actual gigs let alone practice. The knot he's volume is annoying. I have to use pedal volume/the compression/and my bass volume to tweak the volume because 2 is too quiet and 3 or 4 ends up being too loud. I would pay someone to change the pot out but I wouldn't get rid of the amp over it. If I you can get one for a good deal I would recommend it!
