Orange OB-1K

For the $1899.00 range, there are some great TUBE amp options that in my mind would be much more preferential to a heavy Class D with nothing AMAZING to offer other than a blendable distortion channel (it sounds good but not that price good, IMO).

By any chance was this about the same time China was buying up all the aluminium on the market for constructing stuff for the Olympics (or shortly thereafter)? I'm not saying you're wrong, but I still think there are other market conditions that may have applied/do apply in the bike industry price increases and aren't all down to Specialized. Just for a wee bit of context, I've worked in the bike industry since 1996 – NOT that it makes me a bike industry expert or whatever; Just sayin' I'm keenly interested in the subject.

I've seen/heard at least a half-dozen vids and every single motherfudgsicle is using a pick. NB* I've nothing against picks, for some songs/grooves/styles I prefer them.

Yes, I know it's rackmount, but that's only ballpark of actual dimensions. None of the links from review websites/magazine websites to the Orange page work. Orange's website has zip-nada-zero info and doesn't even mention it in the news section. What's the point of having a website that allows for instant publication of your company's info if you don't use it. Orange is always PAINFULLY slow getting any new products up on its own site, up to 6 months on the market for previous "new" products to finally get a mention. It's been 2 months since it was first revealed, how long must we wait for Orange to post any info about its own OB-1K?

IIRC it was by a pretty big margin and no other companies moved the needle by that much, though they all followed suit in the following year. i don't remember anyone on the forums i frequent saying it was materials related.

my point is that there *may* be an underlying economic bit of data that Orange is banking on, or a SWAG they are willing to roll the dice on regarding price points and market demands. the proof will be in the pudding. when it hits the streets an sales give us hard data to judge.
