in my eyes it sucks anyway if you drop an amp, no matter how much it weights an if its in an wooden enclosure, rack or case.

The thing never tricked or died on me, but the greatest part of people having issues with a dying signal or cutting out on the amp because of voltage-stuff are coming from the united states. so maybe, just maybe!!! this is an issue with running it on 230V (standard in the US, i think) and running it on 320V in Europe???

Hope you're getting your TT problem worked out. I used mine at a four hour gig last night, and it's a great little amp. Another possibilty crossed my mind, I set my TT on a rubber pad when I put it on top of one of my Orange cabs due to the vibration from the cabs. Could that be causing one of the tubes to cut out? I know if I'm cranked up at all, anything on top of the cabs ends up on the floor. Just another thought.

Something like the OP said happened to the Terror Bass at a local shop I go too and they just called orange up (because they are a fairly new dealer) and they proceeded to have a tech fix it. I guess it works fine now, but I really haven't heard anything beyond that.

search my posts for the full story (amp cutting out) but I'm on my fourth yes FOURTH orange TB500. they keep sending me new ones. and they continue to have issues. customer support has been good. the unit sounds good when it works. i just don't have any faith in trusting it for a gig.
i'm sorry for your problems but i'm glad to hear someone else had issues with these heads.

I am now on my FIFTH orange TB500.
they all have the same problem, cutting out for a few seconds when I dig in or get loud.
they keep sending me new ones.
"this one is from a new batch. just got them in. any issues should be worked out."
wrong.
only used this latest one a few times.
but I have very little faith in orange any more.
customer service has been fairly accommodating.

Surprising from Orange.

I hope Orange is smart enough to use a commercial quality amp module and not try to build their own.

This goes to show that when you buy and amp you should torture test it, crank it,
and push it as much as possible especially while you have 30 days from the store to return it.

After 5 replacements, I'd be calling the credit card company to say I was sold a lemon design.
