Oregon Bassist's Club!

Gonna be warm, but love to see any of you folks there...

Hey guys... Since this is Oregon, I'll mention a couple gigs coming up that my band will be playing, then shall hawk them no more...

Free Christian rock concert on the lawn featuring FOUR, count ‘em… FOUR BANDS: Cry of Stones, Pure Fusion, Roman Sattelites, and 3 Legs 2 Boise. Rain or Shine (rain indoors). Bring a blanket or lawnchairs, etc. Bouncy house (for the kids... not a band...)

:D

Unfortunately, I'm pretty much limited to the area within the red circle in this picture:

So, if anybody does wind up needing a bassist in that area, feel free to get in touch and I'll see what I can do (I might have a LOT more free time soon).

Oh yeah, almost forgot, I am considering selling my year-old Lakland 55-02. Want to see if there is any localized interest before tossing it out onto the TB classifieds and/or eBay. Pics to come.

Bought in Sept of '10 from MF. It's in great shape, Cherry Sunburst/Maple Fretboard. Newer strings from the spring. Hard case included. Asking $1175. Torn about selling it, but I just don't use it enough. Hate to see it stay in the case all the time. It needs a good home where it will be used.

If it were black and maple I'd be all over it. Good luck with the sale.

Hey, y'all still holding up?

We played our annual Halloween party at Creekside Golf Club in the far reaches of South Salem Friday night. So much fun. each year ya just never know what you're going to see! Trust me when I say there was entertainment for us band members, too!

We played out at the Trask Mountain Outpost in Yamhill - it turned into a rager and we had blast with everyone there. Holiday gigs are the best. We're back at Voodoo Martini in Newberg for New Year's Eve again this year.

Hey Portland.
I'm coming to town Weds thru Saturday this week.

Anybody gigging? What gin mill has the best beer selection?

Try Horse Brass Pub for a nice wide selection. You'll also find that lots of the breweries have secret stash only available at their pubs though. Try Widmer, Deschutes, and Rogue for starters.

Great suggestions so far guys!
Definitely going to Horses Brass and then VooDoo to kill off the munchies.

Are there any decent music clubs that have two - four bands per night? I like most forms of rock, I can go pretty heavy but I don't dig on cookie monster vocals. Say, from the Stones to Soundgarden.

Thanks for the pointers

I haven't checked in here for months Good to see at least some activity. just a reminder that on the west side there are blues/rock jams at the Tillicum on wednesdays, Hart Road Pizza on thurs. both in Beaverton.
I am doing a Blues Jam every wed. at Gators on se Powell at 66th with Lady Kat a blues diva who's very cool and funny.

Im usually rockin my Elrick thru a Shuttlemax 12.0 and a Berg AE212
ya'all are welcome in and sit in on my gear anytime! As long as you play nice haha

peace Kirk
