Really curious about a comparison with the Broughton Fliptop (which I have and like a lot). No need for the DI, so the main difference for me would be overall tone and how it breaks up when pushing the Drive.

The Origin Effects is 3x the price of the Fliptop (and Azure Drive 10th Anniversary, and SolidGoldFX BetaV). The Bassrig SV is nice enough, not sure it’s that much nicer than the SVpre. And for now I still prefer the Scorpion to the Bassrig ‘64.

I have no doubt there’s a place for these super-premium products, but I’m struggling to fully appreciate them. That said I’m following this thread with great interest.

I’ve had the Fliptop twice and really like it. Having had it next to the first two BassRigs the latter do a better job of replicating the feel of a tube amp.

The Fliptop and other B15 type tones are different from the first two Bassrigs. The SV would compare to the Broughton SVpre (which I had), Master Effects Super 300, and many others.

The ’64 I compare with the wonderful Broughton Scorpion which is also a Fender stack.

@Origin_Effects I did this on the Andertons video after getting a bit of a (hopefully lighthearted) roasting from John, but in case you didn’t see it, I’d like to offer my apologies: I really hadn’t intended for you to get swamped. I didn’t think about you being a small company such that you probably don’t have one person whose sole job is customer communication. I didn’t mean to distract from your being able to work on the project; it was more intended to be encouragement. Had I known it was already well into development, I wouldn’t have done this.

Thanks again for all your hard work, and for listening to your customers. I’m happy to be able to support you by buying this and am looking forward to playing it tomorrow and a long time afterwards.

So I have a Mesa boogie d800+ going into the 2x12 cab. I love the clean sound of this amp and use all my gain staging with pedals. Some venues are very tight and I could with an origin pedal.

I previously had the SVT through an orange tiny terror into orange 1x15 cab and I hated the way it sounded just using it into the amp (no FOH) and returned it but most things sounded terrible into the orange.

So now I’m in the market again and cannot decide between this or the 64.
This seems to be more punchier and precise when clean.

I can’t afford to buy both to try. Any recommendations? Playing a EBMM stingray. Genre wise everything from 80’s to modern. Has to be clean sound I will not be using the bassrigs dirty.

I will be using this into FOH and with bass rig when we have the space.

So just to clarify... If I wanted to run this with the cabsim and still go through my Khan DI, I could use an XLR to 1/4 jack to go from the DI out of the BassRig and into the Khan? Is that correct? And then go from the Khan DI out to the FOH. Would there be any issues with that?

Yup. That’s all correct.

Run my bass rigs XLR out into my 1/4” Fatboy DI. XLR out of Fatboy to FOH.

No issues.

I like this very much and the videos seem to be a nice example of what this does

The video comparing a real B-15 with the Origin Effects pedal was very good in the respect that is how I hear and used my B-15, particularly the non-driven sounds.

All of this reinforces my choice of my WD 800 and SW 115. I can get all this from that, including the drive sound that I don't use that much, but sometimes it is nice to go there
