So just to clarify... If I wanted to run this with the cabsim and still go through my Khan DI, I could use an XLR to 1/4 jack to go from the DI out of the BassRig and into the Khan? Is that correct? And then go from the Khan DI out to the FOH. Would there be any issues with that?

If the Khan takes mic level you could also get an xlr to 1/4 inch cable.

It’s really cool how they did the hpf/lpf on the amp out to match a full range cab with a chassic b15’s frequency range in a way that the shelf controls wouldn’t be able to do.

It’s a really expensive pedal but you’re getting a DI, drive, amp sim, cab sim, hpf/lpf that can all be independently turned on and off in varying combinations.

Man, it really is expensive especially with TN sales tax. I sold my Origin SV today on the 'verb and ordered the Fifteen from Sweetwater. Still love the Tone Hammer DI, but love to experiment with the Origin gear.

The thing I’m curious about is how would it sound in a band setting, at a loud volume, either during rehearsal through an amp or live through a PA. Cos usually the B15 isn’t loud enough to be played in a rock band, it shines in the studio or maybe mic’d up on stage. So yeah, worth a try.

@Origin_Effects I did this on the Andertons video after getting a bit of a (hopefully lighthearted) roasting from John, but in case you didn’t see it, I’d like to offer my apologies: I really hadn’t intended for you to get swamped. I didn’t think about you being a small company such that you probably don’t have one person whose sole job is customer communication. I didn’t mean to distract from your being able to work on the project; it was more intended to be encouragement. Had I known it was already well into development, I wouldn’t have done this.

We find it very heartwarming that people respect what we do enough to care and voice their desires for something to be made specifically by us. Everyone at the office cares an incredible amount about the work we do, and we often put a lot of ourselves into making them, so to have people so enthusiastically want to see what we create is the best feeling.

We know other people make B-15-type things, we know our designs and manfacturing methods will never be the cheapest (manufacturing everything within the UK is a challange), but to see people want to see our version of it is wonderful. We are about 13 people in the office doing this stuff, design, marketing, support, testing, building, procurement, all the stuff, so yeah, we're quite small!

Thanks for adding the third off switch position to the cabsim switch. That’s the one thing I really need on my SV, as there are situations when I use both outputs but don’t want the cabsim.

Here's a rough comparison clip. Grand Slampegg then BassRig, first alone then through the B15 IR of the Shift Line Cabzone Bass (this is the stock B15 IR in the Ampeg SGT-DI). For clarity, the order is GS, BR, GS with sim, BR with sim. Apologies for any artefacts in the recording; I think my computer is on the blink. (BR is from the 1/4” output.)

A big fan of Origin Effects pedals. Yes I have all of the bass pedals!! Still use my big box cali76 comps. I've tried the pedal with acoustic and electric bass and the pedal with cab sim has been great. In my head I thought it would be optimum with a P bass. But I seemed to favor a jazz bass thru the PA. Don't get me wrong, it didn't sound bad with a P, but I really like it with a jazz which is something I didn't expect.

Which one do you have?

I have the Broughton Audio Fliptop, BA SV Pre and their BA Fridge 8x10 can sim di box. I can turn off of the Fridge Di cab sim if I am just doing Motown stuff.

I previously had a Bassrig 64 in the past. I loved it but I needed cash, I had gotten it on a trade. I wasn't sure about 2x15 cab sim. It did let me feel analog pedal knobs for the first time in a while and now I have a pedalboard without anything digital for the first time in 2 decades.

Just going to say it out loud, cause even analog - it is a great time to be a bass player for options. We are so spoiled.

I could see myself just getting the B15 pedal anyways for a tiny tuner/Bassrig board. I will never have a vintage fliptop.

The only thing these pedals are missing are an aux in and a headphone jack but I know these for are stages primarily.

Well I've ordered a Bassrig Fifteen! Features and sound fit pretty much what think I've been wanting as a direct to board/interface amp replacement/alternative.

Do you have any plans to add the "Cabsim off" setting to the other Bassrig pedals in the future? That has been my only hesitation to the Super Vintage. I am a big proponent of the Ampeg 810 and its boutique counterpart the Bergantino NV610 that I've played for years but sometimes want for a more direct tone- of course I can use the Amp Out for recording to get this, but I love the added versatility of the switch on the Fifteen at least in theory.

My Origin FIFTEEN arrived today, and the tone and response of the pedal are exactly what I was hoping for. I’m running it into my Aguilar AG700 via the Return (bypassing the AG preamp) and into a Bergantino Ref II 115. Bass is a 63’ Fender Custom Shop w/ flats. The sound and vibe is all there but for my cab, engaging the LO CUT really pushed it into that classic, woody, old-school tone—instant vintage goodness. I could play through this setup all day.

I play in an old-school R&B/Soul/Funk horn band, so I’m looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks at our next gig.

None of this really surprises me though—Origin has consistently put out excellent bass pedals. You can tell a lot of time and care went into designing this one, and it really shows in the final product. Thank You @Origin_Effects!
