Bass Bonedo posted moments ago a comparation video between the two pedals. I percieved more headroom in v2 on the slap in this video, cleaner and a little bit punchier in the upper register, but with little less body in low mids (coloration). The differences are so subtle.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the significant change in attack and release times between the two versions. For V1: "Fully counterclockwise, the attack time is 0.3ms with a release time of 267ms. Fully clockwise, the attack is 2.0ms with a release time of 32ms." For V2: "Attack times range from 1.6 ms to 5.1 ms... Release times range from 73 ms to 880 ms." The faster 1176-style attack times sound grittier to me, so perhaps that change can partly account for the tonal differences.
