Ouch!

I've repaired similar on the heel of an acoustic guitar with good 2-part epoxy. Get long set up, thin 2-part epoxy. Mix up a dab well. Coat the mating surfaces. Let set for a minute before putting together. Clamp fairly tightly, but not so tight you squeeze all the epoxy out. Before it sets, take a soft cloth and wipe off all excess that oozes out. Let set at least 24 hours before unclamping. The epoxy joint will be stronger than the wood, which is obviously important in this high stress point on the instrument, and if you've been careful not to splatter and clean up well, it should not even be noticable except on the closest inspection. It will pass the 5' test, even the 5" test.

(The guitar I had to fix has a Taylor-style bolt neck made about a generation before Taylor started making guitars that way. A "luthier" had put a strap button in the wrong place too close to the bolt and it split. Injected epoxy and clamped, and you can't tell it ever split. I also put another strap button on it in the correct spot.)

Ken had it repaired and looking like new in about 4 hours. He also cleaned all the gunk off my fretboard and re-oiled it, replaced my broken output jack and swapped my tuner that broke off awhile back.

If you ever get a chance to play gigs in Tokyo... don't leave your gigbag with the nice smiling luggage people under the train station in Shibuya.

Took my bass out of the bag for the next clinic and the corner was munched. Sucked cause it happened on the 2nd day so I had to be super cautious the whole time to avoid breaking the final 1/3 left of the corner.
