overdrive/fuzz quest part 2

BTW, here's another one that I completed the other day that sounds really, really good. it's a dual pedal, combining Catalinbread's CB30 (Vox AC30 emulator) and their Naga Viper (rangemaster style booster). they did offer something similar to it called the Galileo, but they only had the boost control on it in the Galileo. I wanted the the Naga's 'range' control (adjustable from fullrange to treble boost), and 'heat' control (which controls the gain) on mine since it's used with a bass.

Love what you did with the board. I think that's a flaw in Alan's design personally, that big ass long board. I rehoused one in a smaller enclosure and it was a bitch to work with! Got any clips of that sucker???

yeah, I thought that his circuit board is way too big so I went with a smaller, more compact one.
no clips of it yet, but I will soon.

Sounds good dude! A little bit tamer than the Megalith, but pretty darn close! Did you change any of the values?

nope. all of the values are stock. i'm pretty sure that can get it to sound as wild as the original. the clip isn't long enough to go thru all of its settings.

off topic..............

just had a little 'drama' out here.
I was just watering my newly planted front lawn and I could hear my neighbor's 3 dogs barking like crazy (non-stop). thinking that they might be barking at this huge deer (probably about 200lbs) that's been hanging around everyone's front and backyards, I went out back and just on the other side of our backyard fence (which is wilderness), their smallest dog had gotten out of their backyard fence (he can squeeze thru the bars) and was barking like mad at something on the ground. it turned out to be a rattlesnake and it was coiled up and rattlin' away. our dog Dixie has been bit by a rattler 7 or 8 times now, so I got their dog to go back thru their fence and got out my pellet gun and shot it about a dozen times until it stopped moving. when I picked it up, I would estimate that it was about 4 to 4 1/2 feet long. then my stepson said, hey' look in their pool! and here's what we saw:

one of the biggest rattlesnakes I've ever seen. I would estimate that he's 6-7 feet long!

Three notes for John:

(1) This thing is phenomenal. Great looking, great build quality and it sounds tremendous. Makes me realize exactly how dumb I was to sell my BJFE BBBOD as it sounds exactly like I remember. Tons of gain on tap and I don't remember if my old one had that much volume available.

(2) Damn, that's a huge rattler!

(3) Nice Fuzz Factory and I'm not surprised you modded it. I found it a bit "uncontrollable" on bass, though that's part of why some guitarists love them. Matt Bellamy from Muse has a FF installed IN his guitars mostly to easily get squeals and feedback.
