yep, it's the biggest one I've ever seen and I've seen ALOT of them.
yeah, the mod actually is capable of taming it and now can be used as a standard, but very variable overdrive/fuzz just by flipping the switch.

On it's own the Blueberry is very fat, dark and vintage sounding which is why I dig it. But turning the Submarine's tone knob to the right gets it into very modern, aggressive scooped sounds. I'm going to keep comparing but I'm already considering selling my B7K.
What exactly is the Submarine affecting the sound? The tone knob is much more similar to the Timbre knob on a Thunderfunk amp or "Taste" knob on a TecAmp it seems.

the submarine buffers the signal thru two Jfets, which gives it a 'tube-like' character with more gain, and the tone knob, along with the mids switch affects the mid and upper harmonics.

here's another great sounding overdrive/distortion pedal for bass. the barber Gain Changer:
it captures the sounds from three of Barber's previous and very popular pedals (the LTD, LTD SR and unLimiTeD), all in one compact pedal. the upper left switch is a three way 'eq' switch, and the upper right one selects between heavy distortion (to the left) and an overdrive (to the right).

BTW, barber sells the Gain Changer for only $129, so I don't think that you really can get a better OD pedal in that price range. IMO, it blows any version of the OCD away, and other costing twice as much.

not yet, but I will soon. I got a chance to crank it up thru my amp earlier today and it sounds wicked good.

I just finished building this one. it's a Landgraff M'OD, which is a modified rat with three types of clipping (on the mini switch). I then modded it even more for no low end loss. since it's basically a rat, only modded for bass, I call mine a 'Brat' (short for bass/rat ).

Rat's always been a big favorite of mine for bass but the low end loss always required a blend which drove me nuts.

I'm rarely impressed by a clip but that pedal is GREAT on bass. Might just order one.

I can't complain however as i have 2 new basses about to show up at my front door. A Bruce Johnson reproduction scroll bass AMB-2 and a Monarch standard from the boys in Brooklyn.

here's another cool sounding one. it started out as a DOD FX91, but I then modified it for more low end and added a two way clipping switch (stock twin 1N4148's or a pair of 3mm red leds).
This guy is the man of bass overdrives. It's already been a year and a month since this quest started and still this man never fails to deliver.
Man, if it will be on Guiness records, it will take a massive individual effort to break this guy's number of individual builds.
