Good morning folks,
I write to you as the bass player for New York Postmetal band GRID. We have just released our debut album, and being a 4 piece instrumental band, there's a lot of bass! Would definitely appreciate some listens, some thoughts on the music or the bass tones.
For the gearheads,
The bass was recorded with an Ibanez Soundgear 5 String with active EMGs. It was split into a DI track before the pedal board. Pedal chain is as follows:
Boss T2 Chromatic Tuner
Boss C3
EHX Pitchfork - for fun bass whammies
MXR Slash Fuzz
EHX Big Muff Bass
EHX Green Russian - JHS Moscow Mod
MXR Phase 90
EHX Bass Clone
Tech 21 VT Bass Deluxe
Ibanez DC10 Delay Champ
This was run into my 1974 Fender Bassman 50 head, which I then ran out to a Bugera 4x12 and an ampeg 1x15. Both mic'd with 57s and I think the 4x12 might have had a second mic on it. anyway, having two or three mic'd tracks with a clean di to mix in gave us a lot of tonal options for the album. If you're interested in hearing what that sounds like, check it out at OVERLOOK. Thanks everyone!
