Finally got my other "P-Bass."
Mid 80's Moridira Hurricane EXB-01.
I'll get pcs later, but for now:
It's got the brightest red finish I've seen. It's got a color matched red neck. The neck profile seems a bit closer to the Jazz, but I didn't really compare. Has stock Gotoh Tuners, definitely a strong point. The body is, unfortunately, plywood. I didn't notice until I had it apart. Bridge is nice, not sure if it's a Gotoh as well or just an in-house Moridira. Has the basic P setup, one vol/tone, split pickup. Pickup is weak, I'm still trying to figure out why. The pots are full sized 250K, which confuses me as to if this is a Japanese or Korean version. Has some setup issues, at first I couldn't stand the action, but I've adapted. Needs neck shims, and eventually I'll get to it.

Oh, came with a Planet Waves locking strap, matching red. :p

Do I like? Yes.

The pickguard? No. I think tort is the ugliest thing ever. :hiding:

Still, white/maple always looks good, I dunno why, I just think it's really clean looking.

You don't like tort? I love it. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I think it makes it look funky and classic, especially with Maple and Olympic White.

I would agree with you on the maple/white thing, though.
