Thanks When I was at the previous owner's to pick it up, he got called at least 6 times by people who wanted to buy it. I just was the quickest

oh yeah but the website I've seen all say "E + 6 digits 1984-1987" and that what I have.

LOL I wasn't aware it was that simple.

I got it for 400 at a local pawn shop. The thing plays amazing I just knew I had to have it. I put some obvious personal touches on it. Then replaced the quarter pounder pick up with a an Seymour vintage style one. I love this bass and reminds me of my buddy's 75 Fender P. Mine is a little lighter.

Maybe not. I have an E-4 Strat that dates to '88. The serial #'s are mixed up from that era. It's no older than '86 though.
