. . . gold leaf only comes in small rectangular sheets. I had this body made and finished by Mattia Franchin in Italy. I specified an even, un-patchy finish, and they delivered it in spades. I'm very happy with their work on this.
I love Franchin. I ordered two guitar bodies from them for my partsmasters. Nitro finish.Thanks. Yes, it's a custom finish, as far as I've ever seen. Not too common. When I have seen it, like with the Fender Custom Shop, it always has a square patch quilt look. I think that's because gold leaf only comes in small rectangular sheets. I'll take it if you ever tire of it!When I needed to pick up a P on short notice ca. 1987 the only color the shop had wasbrown. It kind of grew on me over the years, still have it hanging around.
