Thanks. Yes, it's a custom finish, as far as I've ever seen. Not too common. When I have seen it, like with the Fender Custom Shop, it always has a square patch quilt look. I think that's because gold leaf only comes in small rectangular sheets. I had this body made and finished by Mattia Franchin in Italy. I specified an even, un-patchy finish, and they delivered it in spades. I'm very happy with their work on this.

A duplicate of one on @Jackcrow ’s post (I bought it from him), but I really like this combo on my LB-100. Red tort on Ruby Red Metallic. Not a “standard” like black or Oly White with tort, but I think it looks great.

I'm a sucker for the classic sunburst w/ tort & rosewood. Black w/ tort and fiesta red are pretty bada$$ too. And tinted natural. Maple is cool too, sometimes (got to be 1-piece, though - for some reason I've never cared for that thing where the maple board is glued on).

this one came with a white pg, but i really didn't like the look. P5s are a bit rare, so when i came across this one with the most perfectly flat sawn neck, i accepted the colour. the tort really made it feel more like "mine"

I don't own one of thesem but to me, black with maple neck is "The" Precision bass.
Saw it first time at an early "The Romantics" gig, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever (I didn't know the difference between a bass and a guitar then)
