P-Bass options - Sire P5?

I saw a P5 in sunburst at a local music store laying on the counter and they were doing a truss rod tweak or something. On first glance I assumed it was a multi-thousand dollar boutique bass. Was checking out amps and didn't play it, but it looked good at least at a few feet away.

I’d just use the neck pickup on the jazz and call it a day.

Totally. As long as he has good pick technique, you're money. Slap some flats on for good measure and off to the races.

Fair enough - Id also use the jazz neck p/u and get a comprehensive eq like a Source Audio or Q Strip or Empress to sculpt the rest

Turning down the bridge pickup is the lowest cost solution for sure. Was going to say the same thing.
Don’t you people get it? He doesn’t want to use the neck pickup, he needs an excuse to buy a new bass.

Geez, Its Talk Bass, buying a bass is ALWAYS encouraged, its the first thing you learn around here
That's right. If he doesn't buy a new bass, we don't get to see a new bass.

I'd love to play but my closet is full. I'm jammed up, like the housing market around here! Cannot buy one until I sell one. So all you with bigger closets or bigger houses, keep buying basses, please!
