PA Splitter Question

we have a behringer powered mixer (pmp3000), with double its 215w power ratings if you daisy chain 8 ohm speakers. seeing as the pa speakers we have right now (squier sq15's) only have one input, would it work to purchase this splitter??:

would it split the ohms safely and just make overall sense?? i'm new-ish to this so all help is appreciated.

Nope that's not the right one. You want two females on one male, not two males on one female.

You'll want one made for speakers, not a shielded signal splitter. Though, at this length it might not matter, but why gamble?

If your amp can handle a 4 ohm load, then hooking up two 8 ohm speakers won't harm the amp. Does the amp have the power to adequately push two speakers?

the power's all there. but both 8 ohm speakers only have one input. i do not want to build a jack in, are there any other ways to go about splitting the ohms??

I don't know what "splitting the ohms??" means. Please elaborate. Is this a two channel amp? Are you adding two additional speakers, for a total of four?

alright. the powered mixer has two outputs, each one pushing 215 watts @8 ohms, and 450 watts @4 ohms. currently, we have two squier sq15 loudspeakers, which handle the 215 watts just fine. but, we want more power. so how can i find a way to attach extra speakers to the signal chain, and take advantage of the 4 ohm rating?? the squiers do not have an output

Buy a pair of 8 ohm speakers, of similar power handling, with two jacks on them. The jacks might be labeled as parallel, or in and out. Run speaker cable from amp to new cab, and another cable between new cab, and old. Use decent unshielded cable. 12AWG should be fine.

i know that way. for now, we're trying to hook up another set of speakers with no outs. how would we go about this?

You need a parallel adapter, or single male to two female 1/4 TS "Y" cable, made with speaker wire. Actually you'll need two of whichever.

I'd offer to build you some "Y" cables myself, but with all the driving around for parts, I'd charge more than Bayou.

FWIW if they were my speakers, I'd install a pair of Neutrik Speakons, on each of the four speakers.

if i used that parallel box and connected two 8 ohm speakers properly on one channel (so itd run at 4 ohms), could i still use a single 8 ohm speaker on the other channel??
