I'd leave it natural. I love sea foam, daphne, etc. but a natural bass has a great look to it.
Anything but black. There are approximately 3,455,219,090 black basses in the US by my count.

I see nothing wrong with leaving your bass natural. But then that's just me, I'm not much for colors unless they're applied to something like canvas.
I like the color of my "P-Bass." The guy that painted it did the paint jobs for Fender in the late 50's and 60's. Yeah, it is not a Fender - but it is an Alleva Copollo!
