Pairing OD/Distortion with Sansamp BDDIv2

I need an OD/Distortion pedal that works well with the Sansamp BDDIv2. I don't want any low end loss (I will be running a 5 string bass through it), volume loss, or volume spikes. Shooting for $150 or less, big plus if the pedal can also provide a decent fuzz. Alright let's hear those recommendations!

Have you used those pedals with the BDDIv2? If so was it pretty easy to get good tones?

Btw I'm very open to buying used so all recommendations would greatly be appreciated...
Affirmative. I’ve owned more than a couple BDDIs over the years with good results. Currently running my entire board (including an MBD-1 & Longsword) into a rackmount SansAmp RBI… very happy with the tones on tap.
The secret is in gain staging ie: don’t set your BDDI to “ripping hot” but use your other pedals to push it to a sweet spot.
Setting up all of your pedals “just so” is a process but ultimately very satisfying!
And you can pull off really cool overdriven signals that you simply can’t get from using just one pedal for overdrive.

Ok. That's kinda what I was thinking, because my sansamp doesn't seem to get too hot by itself anyways.

I almost feel like I can get away with using an old school boss odb 3, I hear there's a mod that evens them out pretty good. Maybe even a simple used dark glass would suffice?

Can’t go wrong with a Darkglass— one of my faves is the B3K.. pretty affordable used, too. I’ve heard the Vintage Microtubes is great too but I haven’t tried one yet!
