The kid is 16. If my 16 year old kid ran off on an out of state tour with a bunch of young adults I"d have the law involved.
This kid has a mom who is supportive, and willing to put time and effort into seeing his dreams realized. That support will be invaluable as he faces preparing for a career, in music or whatever.
It would be fun to go through and guess the age of each responder on this post to see how close I get..![]()
You can't your mom is being protective no way to avoid that. I'm 28 and my mom wants to tag along on gigs. Just how they are.
It would be easier to try talking to your dad he can probably convince her to loosen the reigns a bit.
Out can ask her what her concerns are shell tell u drugs drinking smoking sex. Tell her you have to make your own decisions and she needs to trust u.
If she won't back off don't take the gig u won't have a good time and its gonna end badly
Thank you so much for all the great advice guys, I decided that my friends should suck it up and deal with my mom . Addressing the acid thing though, it was one time with people that were not my current bandmates. As i said before me no likey drugs or alcohol. Anyways, thanks a bunch for the advice guys.
"So this is a DIFFERENT band than the one that is going on tour with your Mom?
... and make sure Mom stays out of trouble ...
Keep in mind, my advice comes from the point of view of someone who lost his mom less than a year ago. I've done 7 tours, and can't tell you what it would have meant to have her along on one of them.
